A cum laude graduate of Mitchell Hamline School of Law, John holds a Juris Doctor and Law and Business Certificate. His academic journey began at Spring Arbor University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology, igniting a lifelong passion for systematic thinking and problem-solving.

John's legal career began at Nichols Kaster, where he played a pivotal role in class action ERISA cases and civil rights litigation. He later joined a boutique law firm as an Associate, engaged in complex plaintiff state and federal litigation across diverse areas, including First Amendment, Equal Protection, and workplace discrimination. He excels in legal document drafting, business development, and enhancing organizational competitiveness through tech solutions.

Prior to law, John was an IT Project Manager for Turnberry Solutions, where he managed multi-million-dollar global tech projects for companies like Cargill and Johnson & Johnson. This experience developed his adeptness at coordinating cross-functional teams and delivering excellent project outcomes.

Outside the courtroom and the office, John's dedication to service is reflected in his work as a Program Curriculum Consultant for Urban Strategies, and as a National Training Lead and Program Coordinator for Genesys Works. From teaching IT and workforce skills to at-risk youth to implementing leadership initiatives and cultivating corporate relationships, John's diverse experience underscores his commitment to community development.

John's passion extends beyond his professional life to his love for family and outdoor activities. He is a devoted husband to Jackie and a proud father to Teddy (9) and Leona (4). The family also includes a loyal dog, Sanders. He cherishes family hikes, camping trips, and his own leisure time is often spent on strategy games - a testament to his tactical mind.

John's experiences also include being an independent candidate for Minneapolis City Council in 2017, serving as a board member on various community councils, investing in blockchain startups, and contributing to the Mitchell Hamline Journal of Public Policy and Practice.
